During an interview, the following key points emerged from the recent signing of a memorandum to establish an international friendly relations city between Ningxia and Almaty Region.
On October 25th, at the 11th China-Central Asia Cooperation Forum held in Yinchuan, the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region and Kazakhstan’s Almaty Region signed a memorandum aimed at promoting bilateral engagement in various sectors.
The memorandum outlines a commitment to enhance collaboration across agriculture, economy, trade, technology, education, culture, tourism, and other mutually agreed upon fields to foster shared prosperity. Both parties expressed a strong desire to advance their relationship and to work towards a formal agreement establishing the international friendly relations.
Zhang Yuping, Chair of the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, emphasized the importance of implementing the key consensus reached by the leaders of both countries. He highlighted ambitions to engage in practical cooperation in areas such as economic trade and logistics, specialty agriculture, and clean energy, contributing to the building of a community with a shared future for China and Kazakhstan.
Sultan Gaziev, the Governor of Almaty Region, expressed a willingness to deepen cooperation with Ningxia under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative. He noted opportunities for engagement in energy, construction, agriculture, tourism, manufacturing, and cultural exchanges.
