On October 25, the 31st China Yangling Agricultural High-tech Achievements Expo kicked off in Yangling, Shaanxi, under the theme “New Quality Productive Forces, New Future for Agriculture.” The event, which lasts five days, features a variety of activities including exhibitions, meetings, investment trades, and product launches.
The expo focuses on national strategies such as “innovation-driven development, food security, rural revitalization, and openness,” aiming to highlight a market-oriented approach. Over 1,800 domestic and foreign companies are participating in this year’s event.
The expo is divided into four sections: indoor displays, field exhibitions, online showcases, and international presentations. By integrating offline with online interactions, and connecting domestic with international exhibits, the event aims to comprehensively showcase outstanding achievements in agricultural research and technology, particularly in core seed sources, key agricultural machinery, agricultural water conservation, smart agriculture, and digital agriculture. It promotes a global dialogue about new opportunities in agricultural development.
Wang Songlin, the Director of the Science and Technology Department of the Hainan Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, shared, “We have organized 18 companies to present over a hundred specialty agricultural products, including durians and dragon fruits, along with new technologies like breeding chips for Wenchang chickens. Our goal here is to find business opportunities and enable the people in the northwest region to enjoy fresh, high-quality agricultural products from Hainan.”
This year’s expo emphasizes the development of new productive forces in agriculture, enhancing cooperation across the entire agricultural chain—from research and education to application—to boost industrial upgrades and promote new types of production and services in rural areas. Activities include discussions on dryland seed innovation and initiatives to drive rural revitalization, alongside a roundtable on modern agriculture development within the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and a symposium on “New Quality Productive Forces and Agriculture’s New Future.”
Liu Yinghao, the Director of the Science and Technology Department of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region’s Agriculture and Rural Affairs Department, expressed hope that through the Yangling Expo, they could learn from the experiences of other provinces and enhance interactions to promote high-quality agricultural development in Xinjiang.
Notably, this expo also serves as a crucial platform for investment and trade, deepening economic collaboration and facilitating the translation of agricultural technological innovations into practical applications. A series of activities is being held, including venture capital roadshows for agricultural technology and initiatives to promote organic agricultural development along the Belt and Road.
Since its inception in 1994, the Yangling Agricultural High-tech Expo has successfully held 30 editions, attracting more than 30,000 agricultural enterprises and organizations from across 34 provinces, regions, and municipalities in China, as well as over 70 countries. The expo has drawn more than 34 million attendees showcasing over 190,000 agricultural technology achievements and projects, leading to over 1 trillion yuan in investment and transactions.
