On October 11, 2023, the city of Beijing hosted the “Run, Youth!” event aimed at promoting scientific fitness guidance among young people. This year’s activity attracted approximately 1,500 students from grades two to five across schools in the North Three Counties.
Organized by the Beijing Sports Bureau, the initiative focuses on spreading knowledge about scientific fitness for youth. Its goal is to enhance the integration of physical education and promote holistic development among adolescents. The activities included comprehensive physical fitness tests that evaluated lung capacity, flexibility, reaction time, and balance. Additionally, students participated in a parkour competition that involved running, jumping, and crawling, allowing them to enjoy healthy activities in a fun and engaging way.
The event featured eye care specialists who provided students with valuable lessons on eye health. They demonstrated preventive measures against myopia, offering insights for everyday life and classroom settings.
An organizer emphasized that regular themed fitness activities contribute significantly to promoting new concepts of scientific fitness among youth, showcasing their positive spirit. The aim is to allow more young people to find joy in physical exercise, improve their health, and build character, ultimately enhancing their fitness abilities and overall well-being.
This year, the fun sports festival will consist of seven events in total, with this being the fourth. By organizing these gatherings, the initiative seeks to advance youth sports activities across the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, enriching the extracurricular lives of young people and encouraging families to participate in daily physical activities.
