On October 18, a series of events themed “Building and Sharing a Holistic Wellness Industry” kicked off in Jincheng as part of the 2024 China (Shanxi) Wellness Industry Development Conference.
Located in the southeast of Shanxi province at the junction of Shanxi and Henan, Jincheng is recognized as a national civilized city, a demonstration city for the construction of a peaceful China, an excellent tourism city in China, a national forest city, a national garden city, and a climate-friendly city. It has also gained accolades as an international garden city and a global wellness demonstration city.
In recent years, Jincheng has focused on establishing itself as a national model city for cultural tourism and wellness, aiming to be a well-known cultural tourism destination. The city has developed a spatial layout of “one core, two rings, two belts, and multiple zones” and has worked to create a comprehensive product supply system encompassing “demonstration zones, large scenic spots, hundreds of villages and courtyards, and boutique routes.” Through its initiatives, Jincheng is enhancing its infrastructure, elevating the quality of its scenic spots, improving service standards, and refining brand quality as part of its “Four Major Actions.”
The wellness initiatives implemented cover all age groups, exploring various models such as cultural enrichment, leisure travel, and forest wellness. Additionally, promotional efforts like the slogan “Eastern Ancient Fort, Beautiful Jincheng, Cloud Brocade Taihang, Poetic and Picturesque Jincheng” are gaining traction.
This year marks the fifth installment of the wellness conference, featuring a “1+7” series of activities. The “1” signifies the launch ceremony of the series, while the “7” encompasses various sub-events, including dialogues with industry elites in cultural tourism and wellness, investment negotiation meetings, exploration trips by well-known media outlets to Jincheng, and the inaugural national bicycle competition along the “Three Major Tourist Routes” in Shanxi.
The conference is hosted by the Economic Committee of the Central Committee of the China National Democratic Construction Association and the Shanxi Provincial Committee of the China National Democratic Construction Association, with the support of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce’s Tourism Chamber.
