Construction of Huludao base of China Institute of Atomic Energy starts

On October 9, a groundbreaking ceremony was held for the Huludao Base of the China Institute of Atomic Energy in Xingcheng, Huludao City, Liaoning Province.

During the event, Li Lecheng, the Deputy Secretary of the Liaoning Provincial Party Committee and the Governor of Liaoning, underscored the critical importance of energy in the province’s overall revitalization efforts. He described the establishment of the Huludao Base as a pivotal step in strengthening the collaboration between Liaoning and the China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC). “This project is a testament to our commitment to becoming a leader in clean energy while aligning with CNNC’s strategic objectives in advanced technology sectors in our province,” he remarked.

Li expressed a strong desire to collaborate with all stakeholders to expedite safety measures and ensure the project is constructed to the highest standards. “Our aim is to see this project completed efficiently, transforming it into a hub for innovation and industrial growth that can enhance our national energy security,” he said. Additionally, he expressed optimism that CNNC would continue to boost its investment in Liaoning and ensure the smooth execution of ongoing projects.

A representative from CNNC emphasized the strategic significance of the base in advancing China’s nuclear energy agenda and fortifying the country’s nuclear capabilities. Looking to the future, the vision is to evolve the Huludao Base into a center for collaborative innovation and research, where facilities are built together, talent is shared, and successes are enjoyed collectively. This initiative is anticipated to play a key role in generating new productive forces that will drive high-quality development in Liaoning Province.
