2024 Asian Kickboxing Championship kicks off in Cambodia

On October 8, 2023, the Asian Mixed Martial Arts Championships kicked off in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, featuring an impressive lineup of over 500 athletes from 21 countries and regions across Asia, including powerhouse nations like China, Thailand, Vietnam, and Kazakhstan. The competition is set to unfold over the next six days, promising intense matchups.

This prestigious event is co-hosted by the Asian Mixed Martial Arts Federation and the Cambodia Mixed Martial Arts Federation, making it particularly special as it’s the first time Cambodia has taken on the role of host for the Asian Mixed Martial Arts Championships. Demonstrating their commitment to the sport, Cambodia has sent more than 60 athletes to compete.

According to the event’s schedule, multiple matches are slated to occur daily at the National Olympic Stadium in Phnom Penh, running through October 13. Organizers have also highlighted that this championship doubles as a qualifier for the 2025 World Games in Chengdu, which adds an extra layer of significance to the competition.

An official from the Cambodia Mixed Martial Arts Federation expressed their dedication to ensuring a seamless and fair event. They emphasized their goal of enhancing Cambodia’s international reputation and boosting tourism through this championship.
