Five new federal civil lawsuits were filed against Sean “Diddy” Combs over the weekend, reigniting a serious discussion surrounding allegations of sexual assault and rape spanning from 2000 to 2022. This latest wave of accusations involves unnamed celebrities and includes two male and three female plaintiffs, with all incidents reportedly occurring at parties hosted by Combs.
One notable lawsuit features a plaintiff, referred to as Jane Doe, who alleges that at the age of 13, she was invited to Combs’ MTV Video Music Awards afterparty in 2000. She claims that there, she was drugged and raped. According to her account, after accepting a drink at the party, she became disoriented and dizzy. Shortly thereafter, she alleges that Combs directed her towards another male celebrity, referred to as “Celebrity A,” who then undressed her while she struggled to maintain coherence.
Doe also alleges that while she was being assaulted, Combs and another female celebrity, identified as “Celebrity B,” looked on. She claims that Combs attempted to force her into oral sex, which she resisted by striking him in the neck, prompting him to stop.
In another lawsuit, a 29-year-old independent music artist accuses Combs of drugging her during a party, followed by sexual assault and rape. Further accusations include a case where Combs allegedly assaulted a businessman from Los Angeles at a separate gathering.
Additionally, a separate claim involves Combs and an unnamed celebrity who are accused of drugging and repeatedly assaulting a man identified only as John Doe, a personal trainer for various high-profile clients, at one of Combs’ afterparties.
All five lawsuits were filed in the Southern District of New York by Texas-based attorney Tony Buzbee, who stated, “The allegations in the filed complaints speak for themselves,” and committed to ensuring justice is served. He noted that more cases against Combs and others are expected as they continue to gather evidence.
When approached for comments regarding these new allegations, Combs’ representatives pointed to a previous statement from his legal team, which denied the claims made in six lawsuits filed last week. His attorneys expressed confidence in their case, asserting, “In court, the truth will prevail: that Mr. Combs has never sexually assaulted anyone—adult or minor, man or woman.”
CNN also reported that two additional lawsuits against Combs were filed in New York Superior Court on Monday. Currently, Combs is being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, awaiting trial, having been denied bail due to federal charges of racketeering and sex trafficking. His trial is scheduled to commence in May.
